FYI Chantix is what I used to quit smoking. You have to get a prescription, but it does work. I smoked off & on for 30 years. I am 73 yrs old and I have stage 4 COPD and many other issues that are not good. I decided to quit smoking 16 years ago and my doctor gave me Chantix. I do not know how this drug works but it goes to the portion of your brain that hungers for that cigaret. It does work and you will be surprised just how it does turn off the urge for cigarets. There are a few side effects but it does effect everyone different. It made me dream a lot. After a couple of weeks I only took the pill in the morning instead of 2 times a day. It is worth a try. I gave it up because I was going to be a grandma and I did not want to be a smoker in front of him. He is 16 yrs old now and a great kid. My theory is to FIGHT till the end,
Let God quide you and you will be OK. I treasure every morning and sunset. I enjoy my daughter and son in law and Noah. They make me so happy to have them in my life along with Jesus who will see us all thru
God Bless

God bless you for not giving up. Our family does give us a reason to go on and The Good Lord does give us that strength doesn't He? Unfortunately, Chantix was recalled and not sure if it will ever go back on the market. Sad because I used it to quit in 2001. But like an idiot I started up again after 2.5 years of non-smoking. I'm trying to wean myself off. Somedays are better than others. Do you mind telling me what complications go with Stage 4? I have no idea what stage I'm in yet or what to look for. I've just been diagnosed with COPD but I have no idea how long I've had it. I'm just so anxious to hear what other people face and how they handle it so I'll know how to face them too. Thank you for reaching out to me. You have not idea how much I love hearing from people like you that have strong faith and how they work their life with this disease. God bless you and continue enjoying your grandchildren. My Lord and my granddaughters are my life and my joy
