Osteoporosis treatment or strontium citrate?
Is reclast a safe treatment for osteoporosis I have not done anything so far except strontium citrate?
***Director's Note:***
There’s not enough research to know if strontium fights osteoporosis. Also, the FDA doesn’t regulate supplements in the same way as prescription drugs, so it's not possible to know if if they are safe or work well or even how much of the main ingredient they contain.
If you want to take a strontium supplement, it is recommended to ask your doctor first.

It was hard to tell if I had any bone pain as I had a shattered L4 at the time. My bone density was very low. I took for 2 yrs. It went up slightly.

I have been taking strontium for over 9 months now, along with doing yoga, walking and weight lifting, my bone density is reversing, from -2.7 to -2.3 in about a year, I have full faith in my decision of taking strontium, I take Bone Grow by Garden of life, order it from Amazon, I take strontium first thing in the morning and eat breakfast after 2 or 3 hours and then take 2 doses of calcium with lunch and dinner. I feel stronger and happier.
But us that improvement in bone density real? Strontium makes bones look denser on the scan.
I had looked into Strontium years ago, and even was taking it. After reading more over the years, I stopped because the data was showing that the over-the-counter supplement was not the same as the prescribed version (which I'm not even sure is still available in Europe) and was falsely skewing the results of bone density scans to make it look like there was improvement when, in actuality, there wasn't any. I understand people shying away from prescriptions, but I want as much truth as possible to make the best choices possible. And Strontium just didn't ultimately meet my requirements.
Hi all~ It's great to get all the feedback we do on this site. I've learned so much in such a short time. Mostly, how to be brave and courageous in our mutual battle against this silent destroyer. I have also been taking the Bone Grow combo...good idea to take the 3 caps in the early am..on an empty tummy. Since I'm not going for the RX's out there and rely on more natural additives to my life style..also..to me..by putting the responsibility back on our 'bones' we seem to be doing more on a daily basis to amerorate our own body's. Taking on this responsibility hasn't been easy for me..a million excuses not to get out and walk or lift weights...but...I'm doing better these days..to get better..we have to put out the energy towards that goal. Our mental outlook and peace of mind is most important to all of us that face our particular health challenges. Bless you all for fighting along side each other! Make this a wonderful day!
95% of people have too much calcium in their body (from eating cheese, etc.)and not enough magnesium or.phosphorous. They need to be in a 2:1:1 ratio.
Excessive calcium intake results in it building up in the soft tissues, causing arthrtitis, cateracts, hardening of heart valves, and so on.
Natural Vit D3 is important. Blood levels should be around 40-60, with it mostly coming from daily mid-day sun exposure. Optimal levels of Vit D (and all the benefits that go with it) are just biomarkers of how much sun exposure people get, per a large Norwegian study.
Vit K2, found in fermented foods is what drives the blood calcium into the bones.
Celiac is a usually from antiobiotic resistant Strep in the guts. It LOVES gluten (and often eggs & dairy, too) and causes great inflammation when fed it's favs and multiplying like crazy. Starve it out by going mostly raw vegan for a few weeks. No gluten, no dairy, no pork, no eggs, no refined sugars or refined vegetable oils. All the organic fruits, berries, colorful vegetables and herbs you can eat as soups, smoothies, salads, etc. Any meat protein to be eaten in the afternoon, not morning.
Will need to eat or snack every 1.5 to 2 hours to get the needed 2000+ calories a day to sweep those toxic dead strep bodies out of your guts. Drink only lemon water and herbal teas. Minimize patent Rx & OTC meds since they stress the liver and gut biome. Have steamed sweet potatoes at dinner as much as possible.
You will also lose any excess weight as a side effect.
