Hi all: Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing rapid and erratic heartbeat? I am afraid the MAC, and MAC pills, gerd, and hiatal hernia (caused by the pills) did something to my heart. I think it is all related and it is scary.
At night, when I lay down, and my tummy wants to crawl up into my throat, my heart gets affected I think. Rapid erratic beating and seems to be getting worse. No one in my family has had heart attacks, but no one else had this disease. I know I should go to cardiologist but I don't want anything else wrong with me!! Enough is enough. Cheers, Christa

My husband complains of heart issues with the medication. He also has a hiatal hernia and has stomach problems which are exacerbated by the medication. Once he told that to his pulmonologist and infectologist, they both suggested he not take the pills at all. So, I guess the medication is as bad as the disease. I so wish there was an easy cure. Maybe the Nitric Oxide will be that cure.

You should have had an EKG prior to starting the meds. You need to report these symptoms ASAP. I am not trying to alarm you as it may be nothing. However, my ID doctor said one of the meds causes heart arrhythmias so you should probably give your doctor a call.

i should point out he had both conditions before starting the meds, too.

Yup I am right there with your husband. Its like dominoes, one affects another and another. I eat low fat organic, and early, but it doesn;t seem to matter anymore, just gets worse. If I can fall asleep, I am ok, everything settles down, except, now the heart. I know anti acid pills dont really help hiatal hernia, but am going to try tagamint. Not a fun way to live, The heart thing scares me, then I cant sleep and the stomach gets worse. DANG Meanwhile the lungs get worse and worse, hurts to breathe.

I definitely have arrhythmia, I can feel it clearly, but what can they do?? I guess I'll go see cardiologist, so stupid

There are drug interactions with Tagamet. That one I would avoid. Look up QT interactions with Tagamet

Cardiac Electrophysiologists take care of Arrhythmia issues

@unicorn...are you avoiding sleeping on stomach and right side? Part of Gerd precautions. Also use several pillows or elevate head of bed.
Of course do all the recommended Cardiac suggestions!! Tdrell

@jkiemen....I use OTC Zantac....150mg for my GERD first thing in morning and at night sometimes. I use TUms and Gaviscon chewable for break Thru indigestion as needed. But I also am monitored by my Cardiologist once or twice a year to be sure the chest pain is not cardiac since I had a cclised coronary artery 3 years ago....my symptom for that was extreme fatigue. Tdrell

thank you, It's ok I don't take any other drugs
