upset caregiver: what do these results mean?
My spouse was diagnosed with Throat cancer 2 years ago. Since then has been Cancer free, hasn't missed any of the post check ups. Had a ct scan a week and it came back with a small nodule in the lungs. Has a pt scan and cant get the results for another 10 days. I saw the results......"impressions" 1.5 cm spiculated nodule upper lobe intensely hypermetabolic consistent with pulmanary metastines.
2. a smaller 5mm nodule along right major fissure also suspicious.
3.Mild activity w\a nonenlarged mediastinal node and both hilar regions nonspecific-maybe reactive vs metastic.
3.Hypermetabolic activity is noted in a testicle. More testing is needed.
4.hypermetmetabolic activity associated with peribronical vascular ground glass opacification which is likely inflammatory or infectious. No hypermetabolic activity in the throat.
Is this good or bad news?

Do you have any help at home so that you can get "me time"? Are you getting out of the house?
No, its just me, my husband and our son.
Well the fickle finger of fate struck. Again. He went for the covet 19 test. It came back positive.
What next!
@scared2 I will be curious to hear what his medical team will do now. Are you protecting yourself and your son, so you both do not get sick, also? Have you made a list of people he could have been exposed to and another list of those he came in contact with, so they can be notified?
You are carrying such a burden on your shoulders right now. There may be a social worker attached to his case who you can reach out to for some support getting through all this. They will have resources for you to turn to for assistance.

Still haven't heard from the chemo dr.She is the one who sets up everything. I'll hopefully know more later today. The elementary school has our son out of school till the 29. He wants so badly to go to school. I'm scared to find out how this will effect his cancer. I'm really feeling
Depressed and frustrated.
@scared2 Of course, your son wants to be in school! Is he on quarantine after being exposed to someone with covid (his father)? Will the school let him do a covid test? And you’re in quarantine also? Oh, gee, this is such a hard situation! How old is your son? Will the teacher be willing to make up packets for your son to do at home?
Yes, our son originally was to be quarantined to the the 21, then I questioned her decision . Then she changed the date till the 29.
The same day my husband has his next covet test, were all going to take one. Assuming its negative, there going to be hand delivered to the school nurse. Our son is 9 years old. No one said anything when I asked about make up assignments. Hes in special Ed, distant learning didn't work out for him last year. We had a hard time to do the school work.
Got the call from my husband's oncologist yesterday, that the dr. Who is going to be doing the procedure will be getting in touch with my husband today or tomorrow.
Depressed and frustrated.
We finally got the call from the dr who is to do the biosopy. They are sending him to a cardoithoxiactic surgeon Monday. Why the change we don't know. But I'm more terrified than ever. LET we heRd before he got covid, was the bronkospecialist was do the biosopy. What are they skipping the biosopy all together now or what. They sure their time getting back to him.
@scared2 Have you called to see what may be happening next Monday? That may help relieve some of your anxiety, and also allow your husband to prepare for a procedure of that is going to happen. You both have the right to know and understand what is coming next Monday!
We are here for you, and I am curious what the appointment will entail. Remember, you are not their only patient, and they are gathering information and details of what is to be done.

MondY its only for consultation. It almost sounds like they're not doing a Biosopy and going right to the surgery. I'm not a dr. That's just my guess.
I realize we're not the only patients.
We were just surprised that they went from the palm palmlogists to a surgeon W /o notifying us. Not that we had to be. Itll be another few days of going nuts, and being scared. Not to mention the "what ifs".
