@kenc From all my research, in order for the colon and a vaginal fistula to heal, an ostomy must be performed. Think I am more worried about the surgery itself - if I survive, I'll probably be in a nursing home the rest of my life. All my present problems stem from a hysterectomy four months ago.

Find the Doctor that you really trust and have faith in! That’s probably the absolute best any of us can do. I’ll keep you in my thoughts! Hoping you can find a doctor you really trust to help you! Hang in there! ♥️

My VVF vaginal fistula is in the bladder. I've had 3 surgeries to close it up and all failed. The last one was done by the Head of Urology at UTSW. He didn't know why it didn't close up and failed. Mine too was from a hysterectomy a year ago, probably an unnecessary operation.
