@Thank you @beleza. Yes, I would have to agree. At some point in the process, a painting takes on a life of its own. For me personally, this portrait also represents my own journey through recovery and healing too because this man gave me back what I had lost which was the coordination of my arms. I was still trying to rebuild my strength at the time I painted this, and it was exhausting. When my arms and back got tired, I would lay on my back on the floor for a couple hours to rest, and then get up and paint a few more hours. I could not have done this without him and the surgery he did for me, and his kindness opened the door.

What an amazing process and to see it unfold in that format is quite remarkable. Your physician must have had some inkling of the talent
that you possess and your determination to paint again.
