Thinking you are making right choice to not do surgery. If I had to do it over, I would have figured out a way to not have mine done. There should be therapy for your original knee. Just was looking on Amazon for books by McKenzie, for back issues and he has one on knee maintenance. Hoping your surgical knee improves.
Hi,
Also, do your research diligently on finding the best knee surgeon and where you will be having the operation done. I didn’t and just took the first referral the hospital and pcp gave. I’m not saying the surgeon is not capable or good, but had I realized what the total package was, I would have chosen more wisely. I probably could have somehow worked around my knee and avoided the misery I have endured. I am working at preserving my other knee so I will never have to go through it again!
I also have that tender spot right below my outer knee. If I bend my knee the wrong way that tender spot becomes an "electric pain" and I have to immediately straighten my leg to get relief. I would wait until your first TKR is satisfactory before getting a second. I am 5 weeks post-op and will need a Manipulation Under Anesthesia in the near future. My ROM is 94 degrees.
