I take 1200 mgs of gabapentin twice a day - no side effects. And I take a Lyrica at night - it makes me sleepy. Peggy

I had been on Lyrica for about 13+ yrs. & was switched to Gabapentin about 1-2 yrs. ago. I was told Gabapentin was the generic Lyrica. If so, why do you take both? Just wondering. Maybe I'm missing something by taking Gabapentin. I've had no problems w/Gabapentin & I really like the lesser amount for the Rx cost.
