I don't fit the usual dumping syndrome patient. I have not had gastric bypass and am not diabetic but have very severe dumping syndrome. It started three years ago when I had a severe gastritis and ended up with colonic inertia. I had a colectomy six months ago and no longer need laxatives but the dumping syndrome is at least as bad and maybe worse. My small intestine works more rapidly than normal as well and the dumping syndrome causes a great deal of roiling, gas, bloat as well. Are there any drugs that can help? It has been six months since my colectomy but this dumping syndrome is still very much controlling my ability to move on with normal living. I've tried all of the usual recommendations about eating and what to eat.
