What's your experience with Vertiflex Superion Implant?
Has anyone had the Veriflex Superion implant. I had it and it did not seem to work for me. Would appreciate any one that has information. Thanks

Medicare pays for it. No idea how your insurance co. stated "experimental. You might press them to more fully explain their "experimental" denial. Had it done May 28. Huge reduction in back pain.
Costs apx 15k
Yes, Medicare (Cigna Health Springs) denied the appeal also. They said they needed proof thru clinical trials.
Thank you John!
After PT, cortisone and epidurals had limited success, pain doc brought up Vertiflex.
My Doc wants me to get the veriflex implant because of my back and leg pain. Can anyone tell me a success story. I also want to know if anyone has experienced side effects. Thanks

Hi @sjandorf and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. If you scroll through the past pages of this discussion you will see that others have had success with this procedure.
@pokerplayer1 is one that has had relief from it and he was just active on the site about 35 minutes ago. Perhaps he can share his experience with you.
What are your trepidations of moving forward?
I had it done on May 28. No side effects occured. Back pain took 9 weeks to come down to almost nothing. The right leg continues to go near dead occassionally.
Sitting down for 45 sc. stops that
I don’t have any side effects from having the Vertiflex spacer put in 6 weeks ago but I’m as yet not sure how much it has reduced my pain. Now that I am doing more after the six weeks I feel that it hurts more. Does anyone know if in some cases it takes more than six weeks to feel relief. I am 78 and in good health other than my stenosis. Also does anyone know if they got injections after Vertiflex and it helped.
I'm 75. Took 9 weeks before I felt very substantial relief. I go to PT 2x a week. Have not any further injection
