Anyone had Thyroid Nodules?

I had my endo appointment and she told me the nodule was benign, (which I already knew from the hospital). Basically, I was took she would look at it again in January. Nothing can be done, just have to live with it or remove the thyroid. I asked the dr. what she would do if she were me. She said she would try to keep my thyroid. She would not give me any thyroid medicine because she said it can cause problems with the heart. I am going to try to go gluten free to see if that will help reduce the size of the nodule. Sometimes I can't feel it, but sometimes I feel like something is stuck in my throat. Just wish I could feel fine and start growing my hair again. I don't know what else to do.

I have a thyroid nodule (actually 3 of them) that have been monitored for about 15 years or so, they get bigger, smaller, sometimes I can see them... This actually persisted through a period of hyperthyroid, which didn't seem to have any impact on the size. My thyroid hormones (all) are also checked often and remain normal no matter the size of the nodule. I can tell you that going gluten-free 10+ years ago has had absolutely no impact on the nodules or thyroid hormones. Who suggested that might help you?
When I saw the latest endocrinologist, she said removing the thyroid is now a last resort, as replacement hormones are never quite the same as your body.
