@martyk -- There is a discussion you might find helpful for DRG spinal cord stimulator.

My trial SCS was with Boston Scientific. The trial was aborted as my Pain Mgt. Doctor is an anesthesiologist who irritated a nerve while attempting to thread the probe from the L5-S1 region into thoracic area. After experienced this, along with me being on blood thinners, I decided not to tempt fate any further. My PCP was the one who recommended a trial dosage of Cymbalta (30 mg) for at least a two week period to allow my body to adjust to it. She also suggested using 5% Lidocaine gel as a supplement. I also continued taking 7.5 mg of oxycodone at 6hr. intervals. After a four week trial at 30 mg, the dosage was increased to 60 mg. I'm not experiencing any harsh side effects which I had with Lyrica and gabapentin, and my oxycodone consumption has reduced 25%. My intention is to further decrease my oxy this month to a 5 mg tablet that will sustain relief for 7-8 hrs. That in effect will result in a 50% reduction. I'm just taking it a day at a time.
