I tapered from effexor 187.5 mg by my doctor in 4 weeks and my life has been hell. I am 84 years old - a widow for 20 years and have a lot of issues in that time. Years earlier my physician prescribed zoloft. It worked well and 3 was weaned off it by my doctor in a relatively short time without having any problems. I think my doctor prescribed effexor due to my age. What a tragedy this drug has made of my life. Why aren't using your plan. It seems sounder & safer than the plan my doctor used.
