Thank you for this good info..I'll be calling my primary doc and asking about getting a referral to a known Endocrinologist in my area. It's very discouraging to read that it really doesn't matter what we all do to aid ourselves in this predicament....besides taking the 'meds' for it..which can cause such other terrible maladies..too many for my piece of mind. If I can't reverse the bone damage that I have, naturally...well..at least I can feel better and enjoy what my life now has to offer me..without looking over my shoulder for something major to go 'south' because of the medication taken to assist in osteoporosis.
Please..is there someone out there that has had some good news here? I'm all into better nutritional choices and common sense exercises..that's me, for sure. Having this 'anvil' of doom over my head is not! Has anyone tried Garden of Life's, Grow Bone formula? What supplements are you taking? I'm currently getting PT..but now see that I know more then they do about this condition and what exercises and stretches are not good for osteo patients....it's a constant battle to find the right combinations that work for some kind of amelioration here for the 'sentence' we've been given..patted on the head and told to 'take this drug'......
Get out there and move..move ..move....put on a pedometer...work on 'you'....hugs....

I'll look forward to hearing from you after you see an endocrinologist about Hyperparathyroidism.

Like you, I have negative reactions to many of the bone-building medications. The only one I was successful in using was Evista (Raloxifene) but I took it for a long time and I was advised to change. So far the changes have caused other health problems.

I don't take a lot of supplements with the exception of Vit D3, and magnesium. You provided some interesting information about the use of the exercise trampoline. I was not aware that was good for bone building. I'll have to look into that some more.

I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you keep posting updates regarding your progress?
