The biggest issue is the distance to the clinics, because I live in the St. Louis area. The pain is, so I have been told, is neuropathic pain. The pain is in the abdomen and rectal areas.
Regards, Ken

Hi Ken. I'm so sorry you experience such neuropathic pain. It must be awful for you. Are there any current ways that help you handle your pain? Are you able to calm it by using any specific techniques?

Yes, distance certainly can be an issue. It's unfortunate that you are not close to a Mayo Clinic. I found myself challenged with distance as I live in NY and had no clue how me getting to any of the Mayo locations was going to work. I chose Jacksonville, FL, PRC, where Dr. Sletten teaches. I had to strategize. I changed insurance plans so I would have out of network coverage through my Medicare plan. Paying a higher priced monthly insurance premium was well worth it as I had zero co-pays. I was very blessed to have some financial assistance from family for my flight, 3 week hotel stay and food. It was a big undertaking, but extremely worth the investment in my future well being and changed my life for the better. It really was awe-inspiring for me.

If you feel Mayo PRC is worth it for you, do you have any strategies you can think of to help get you there?
