Anyone had Thyroid Nodules?

Very interesting! I went to the dr. to discuss a colonoscopy procedure. While he was talking to me about the procedure sitting behind his desk, he stopped and said, "Has anyone told you that you have thyroid nodules?" That was the first I was told about it. I had it checked from there and have been on this journey. All the years that doctors would feel my neck and everything was fine, and then a colonoscopy doctor tells me what I have without touching my neck. How was the surgery when your thyroid was removed?

That is a coincidence! I think its because the dr i saw about having a colonoscopy was a surgeon primarily and I think they must notice lumps and bumps and read the reports?!
I should have been checked for thyroid as years before had radiation for cancer of cervix and during the five year follow up the dr at the cancer clinic always felt around my neck, but never by my family doctor!
I wish when dismissed from cancer clinic they gave us a sheet of paper with what we should ask our family doctors to do in future, e.g. pap tests, check thryoid etc. I left it up to my family doctor and he let me down on this and other issues a lot.... no wonder people go on google to check things out.
I had a D&C and surgeon said took my appendix out as noticed had "issues"?? Year later another doctor said the surgeon had punctured my uterus so while fixing that took out my appendix.A year later I found out and many many other things I could tell you over the years.
Be vigilant. Ask questions. Check internet. Please don't leave it up to your busy family doctor who, while may be great at many things, doesn't know everything. Also I now ask for a copy of every test result, its free and I would pay for. Even so my fam dr said he could not FEEl the goiter, but another doctor could SEE it from across desk! Ugh Now no one is looking after me as no family dr. I have to be my own dr. and its hard at 77.
