My wife has Idiopathic neuropathy and her pain is severe in her hands and in her leg and feet. She has used all the medications which her doctors have prescribed and nothing seems to get her out of pain. She isn't able to sleep at night and is wore down by the pain. Any help would be appreciated.

My 88 year old husband was told he had stage 3 CKD about a year ago (he seems to jump back and forth between a and b). At the same time when the knee jerk reflex was done there was no reaction on either knee. He has been treated for some years for BP, Thyroid, gout, mood problem, sleep problems and enlarged prostrate. He has extreme fatigue. Constant pain in the back in the kidney areas. Shortness of breath, pressure around the chest area. Blood pressure is normal with meds - however when he showers it drops to 90/41! He has to lay down. He also has purpura. Hasn't had a blood test since last November. I suspect he might be in Stage 4 or close to it. He does not want dyalisis or tests done at his age and health. I'm assuming the lack of reflex means he is suffering from peripheral neuropathy. Thank you. I hate seeing him suffer but not sure what to do. He only wants to eat waffles - sweet stuff and will eat fruit (which I give him often).

Ten years or longer Debillatatiing disease I’ve spent a lot of money nothing’s helped I play several musical instruments and can’t enjoy it much anymore because of the pain
Kratom really helps.

Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy? Can you share a little more about your symptoms?
Hi. For idiopathic small fiber neuropathy, I am prescribed:
Gabapentin 600 mg 3X
Nucynta 50 mg 4X
Nucynta ER (extended release) 100 mg 2X
Nucynta is a combination of opiod and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor
My pain is very well-managed with these meds.
I hope you find a way…
Yes. But thankfully not pain. Just progressive sensorimotor loss. July 21 twenty-first anniversary of dx.

@billchitwood, I know it has to be extremely hard when your loved one is suffering and you are not sure what to do. I'm wondering if the following discussion started by @IndianaScott might be helpful -- Love and Caregiving...: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/love-and-caregiving/
How do you take the Kratom? And how much?
I take mine in capsules but you can get powder and mix with orange juice. 2-5 grams. I take ten capsules three times a day.
and does it work? Which Kratom? Seems like a lot
