Dr Cook was my plan B if I couldn't get in to see Dr Aksamit @ Mayo. Haven't been able to wrangle an appointment with Aksamit, so will keep my August appointment with Cook. He's very close to my home so plan B is fine with me.
I was diagnosed in January of this year and put on the big 3 antibiotics but my ID doc admits she has little experience with this condition and recommended Cook or Dr Gwen Hewit in Denver as experts. I appreciate her honesty and look forward to getting my questions answered.

@mac47, my opinion .. do NOT stay with someone who says they have little experience with MAC .. this is a serious disease .. educate yourself and be your own best advocate! Get moving on it! Don't wait for Aksamit .. he is now a world wide expert/speaker .. but the Mayo doctors work as a team so just get an appt .. he is ALWAYS available for a consult. Hugs to all! Katherine
