Vaccines, including all the Covid vaccines, do not infect you with the virus. Instead, they stimulate your body to recognize the virus and build immunity, called antibodies, so you do not get infected with the virus. The Covid vaccines are about 90% effective against getting Covid, and if you happen to get the virus, your case will be less serious.

Hi Sue - thanks for the comment. I think you misunderstood. I know the covid vaccine will not cause an infection - my question is: will it prevent infection or just prevent symptoms?
