What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@avmcbellar Hi Toni
I've just typed out a too-long text on my cell in response to your lovely text, and AARGGGH, I lost it in the ethers just before signing off.🙃 I tried every way I knew to recover it. Oh well. The gist of it was ... love the 3 photos of Bunzilla (love that nickname) and his ladies ... and, a good nudge for me to request at the least a visiting Care Dog here! When this building was new, pets were allowed, but it was found the seniors were unable to care for them properly (dog outings, cat litter boxes) so the plan was abandoned. We'll see...
I know it would be a tricky idea right now, with Covid. At my previous seniors' place we had a gentle golden lab Care Dog visiting weekly. It was wonderful.
@loribmt. Floooofs. Love that descriptive word, Lori. I used to affectionately call my little Spike "FoozyFace" quite often.
@loribmt, @avmcbellar, @jakedduck1. I've made six attempts to post a picture of my little FoozyFace, Spike. Fifteen wonderful years of love and loyalty. He was 14 years of age in the pic, always my constant companion, and guard dog (all 12 pounds of him. Lol) and sidekick on outdoor hikes and painting excursions. Tiny but tough. Yorkie and chihuahua mix. I miss him sooo much. He lived to be 15.
I'll try to post the pic again later. (Stubborn, right Jake? Lol)
@loribmt and all. I DID It. I think. 7th try. Stubborn or what? Lol.
@loribmt and all. Nope, I didn't succeed in posting the pic of Spike. Maybe much later, I'll make an 8th attempt.
@artist01 sorry to hear you had difficulty with the technology. You will figure it out. I am surprised the residents took care of the pets before. The residents are there for a reason to have others look after them by providing meals, laundry, ADLs, etc. The animals should be cared for by the facility as well, hence the name “community pet”. The residents should only have to provide the petting and loving. The animals are owned by the facility for the good of the residents.
@laurie oh bummer! I’m looking forward to seeing your sweet little Spike.
A couple ideas when for when you download your pics and have failed attempts.
You have it figured out enough to post. So when you try again, wait until you see the green check mark ✅ on top of your photo once it’s downloaded, showing that it indeed has secured it into the message. Initially it will have a line or bar running through the pic as it downloads. It gradually fills in to all dark grey, then the bar disappears and is replaced briefly with the check mark. After that you can go ahead and post the photo.
Also as you are looking to post a picture, if you end up scrolling and lose the message to add or drag photo here, or if the screen for you photos disappears, you’ll just have to click on Add Photo/Files again as it’s very touchy. Doesn’t like it when you inadvertently move out of that little window.
See if that helps! Lori
@avmcbellar. I'm so sorry
...I misled you by retyping my text a second time after inadvertently losing my first unfinished text in the post regarding pets at my facility! In the first post I had clarified that the residents had their own pets in their own individual suites, not community pets. Laur
@loribmt Thanks Lori. I've waited for the grey horizontal line to fill but I didn't get a green check mark. Instead, a big "X" covered the photo, sometimes in bold and sometimes faded. I even downsized the photo, but still no luck. I chose a pic that was marked with a heart as a "Favorite" in Spike's album and wonder if that might be an interference for the download? I tried a different photo (not a pic of The Spikester) on a separate post and couldn't download that one either. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy 9 with recently cleared history, etc. I'll keep trying! 😉 😜
If you get an X when trying to upload photos, it usually means the photo is too large - more than 5 MB.
