@dfulwyler so you didn’t see surgeon about gallbladder surgery? You holding off on that ? Do you live in FLA ? I’m 3 hrs south of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville . I hear they both ( Cle Clinic, Weston) and Mayo make you redo all the tests again , even if you recently had them done . My gosh the deductible plus 20 percent on all this tests will be so much $$$$ . I’m kind of scared of that . It’s like your left to suffer or you go broke trying to figure out what’s wrong 😑 and how to fix it ! How much do you burp a day ( I’m in 2000-3000 range). If my gut is empty or digesting food ,. It’s always churning and the belches are huge and wet but not acid @jammins what are yours like ? Have you figured out what it was and does it still happen since 2018 @jammins ? Thanks Rosemary

@rozy288 I am sorry to hear about your symptoms and being on the waitlist for Mayo. In a world where almost everything is instantaneous now a-days, it's difficult to wait when you are suffering. I do know that both Mayo Clinic and Cleveland are complex care centers and are usually the places people turn to when they have exhausted all other options and are desperately seeking answers. I think the reason for duplicate testing is to ensure other facilities didn't miss something. It's more of a testament to Mayo's thoroughness to find a solution, rather than an annoyance or burden for their patients.

Have you considered asking one of your physicians for a referral to attempt to expedite the process a little? Besides belching are there other disruptive symptoms taking place?

Not been offered the option of GB surgery. I am, finally, getting a referral to Mayo in MN. I live in WA state. I have Medicare and a secondary insurance so my coverage should be good. I belch on an empty stomach and with digesting food. My digestive system churns a lot. The ejection factor on my HIDA scan is higher, 83%. SIBO breath test was borderline for methane this last time. Took a course of riflaxim & neomycin. Doing a follow up breath test. All other tests have been normal range.
