I experienced abdominal ache and burning for about a half day every time I took Fosamax. Over time I also started to have intermittent aching in the groin area. At night I started to have bone pain in my lower legs that was severe enough to wake me up. Also, cramping, charlie horse type pains in legs and feet that often occurred at night, but would sometimes happen during the day, too. I did not experience the leg and groin pain until I'd been on Fosamax for six or more months, and from that point it intensified. I did stop taking it after several years, but my doctor later persuaded me to go on it again. I started it once more, but with same side effects. After media began reporting some very negative reports on this and other osteoporosis drugs, I did some serious research, and stopped taking it. I haven't taken any osteoporosis drugs for a number of years - I try to eat the right things for bone health, exercise, etc. I feel great and haven't had any bone issues to date.

Would you mind telling us your age and what your risk factor is? I am trying to decide if I am going to start Tymlos and it's a huge decision. I guess it never occurred to me that when you finish one you have to start another. I haven't heard an overwhelming response of people got much benefit from taking these drugs.
