What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@loribmt Oooh! Yikes. VERY up close and personal. Be careful out there. 🐻
@loribmt
Mercy gracious,
Where on earth do you live?
I’ve been a city boy all my life and now bound to stay one!!
Nice picture though.
Jake
😂 Jake, you never fail me with the comebacks! Well, I do live on Earth so that’s good. My time is split between living in the city and the north woods of Wisconsin. In case you have visions of living off-grid in a lean-to tossed together with sticks and moss, water from a creek and ‘facilities’ being behind a tree stump, let me assure you it’s properly civilized with all the creature comforts. We even have a chocolatier less than 3 miles from our home. See? It’s all good. I think even you would like it here! We have ducks and geese! ☺️
No worries, Laurie, I have a healthy respect for the critters…and all I have to do is be able to outrun my husband. 😂 That’s our standing joke with each other.
@loribmt 🤣 Lori!
Good one. Very chivalrous of your husband to "let" you win, under those circumstances!!
Hi Elizabeth, yes these Siberian Irises do spread, but slowly. Regular irises are much easier to grow! The first 5 years there weren’t even any blossoms so i was getting a bit discouraged. Finally 3 years ago they started getting sporadic flowers but this year, wowzee! What a show.
You have daily shows at your condo with all the birds, obnoxious squirrels and other critters!! Do you have any neighbors who might do a quick clean up of your bird feeders for you? I’m sure this is all really vexing for you to not be able to get out and do what you want! I’m finding a similar frustration by my continued ban on any gardening…can’t even pull a weed. My transplant team is adamant…to avoid a fungal infection at all cost. Le’ sigh…
I’m so sorry that pesky UTI and asthma are continuing to plague you and keep you from enjoying your usual activities. I’m amazed daily with what you’re dealing with and yet, there you go, marching right along like it’s just a little inconvenience. You, Laurie (@artist01) and others members facing so much on a daily basis are exemplary in attitude and resilience!
I can feel your relief with the news that your son has filled his prescription!! We’ll hope and pray he continues on with his meds. It’s a huge step forward for him…and you.
Fondly, Lori.
@loribmt
Having candy nearby candy store near is a definite plus provided a bear doesn't eat you on the way or worse yet after you've already made a purchase and before eating it.
Do you know if the candy store does mail orders? I like to try different places.
At least ordering by mail I don't risk being devoured by a bear.
I will stay in the city. Although I have seen the occasional opossum or raccoon and we even had a mountain lion in the neighborhood. A very rare incident.
Jake
@artist01 @ess77 @jakedduck1 @peach414144 It was a squirrely day! Lots of antics from the tree rats!
@loribmt Aw, Super photos Lori! I wish we had a few squirrels in my neck of the woods. I guess they can be troublesome to some folks, though. Especially bird lovers/feeders?
Placing a baffle below the bird feeders will protect the seeds from the squirels and when some of the seeds fall to the ground as the birds eat then the squirrels will partake. I use this method and it works, I also throw some seeds on the ground below the feeders for the suirrels and also some of the birds like to eat the seeds from the ground. Enjoy the beauty of the world.
