I would consider it. I haven't been evaluated for CI, but suspect that i wouldn't qualify. I usually don't have problems understanding conversations in quiet environments with my one good ear. My understanding is that if hearing aids could improve my ability to hear in noisy environments suffifiently, then I wouldn't qualify for CI.

Keep your options open and your eyes on the progress in this area. There are a couple new cochlear implant options for single sided deafness. And, the qualifications for getting a CI have changed quite a bit recently. If and when you find your 'good ear' is not doing well, especially in noisy environments....often the places where social activities take place that we want to be able to participate in...do check it out.
