Hi everyone thank you so much for reading through this. I’m 30 male, and have asthma, GERD, and allergies(trees and grass).I recently moved from NY to NC. When I came down here my allergies were so terrible I could not breathe through my nose for 2 weeks. I had to mouth breathe and ended up having an asthma attack. Since that day I have never recovered. I have had constant chest pain, some days it’s manageable and other days it’s unbearable. And I can’t find any relief and have trouble sleeping.

I’ve gotten blood tests, chest x rays, EKGs and CT scan with contrast. Nothing comes up. My full symptoms are chest pain that can be from one side to the other and in the middle. Chest soreness and tenderness to the touch. Back pain, leg pain when walking. Shortness of breath. I’ve been pretty sedentary for a while now and contribute leg pain to when I have to actually be productive. The back pain lately could be from sitting up on the couch with no back support for hours a day.

When I went to the ER they performed many tests and one doctor said I had anxiety. I’ve been on anxiety meds only for a week so far with no improvements. My pulmonologist changed my inhaler and that hasn’t improved or made the situation worse. I’m very confused on what this can be. Part of me thinks something musculoskeletal, costochondritis, anxiety, and of course googling makes everything worse.

Hi I also have the same type of chest pain as you describe. Same type of tests as well. What I found was that exposure to animals was the precipitating factor. When I gave my dog to my brother the pain went away in a few weeks. If you have an animal it might be worth a try having a friend or relative look after it for a few weeks to see if that makes any difference. Good luck.
