I know this is a little later, but I need help. I am beginning to wonder if these are related back around 2010 I had my gall bladder removed, ever since then I started having migraines aches and pains and massive weight gain. My thyroid is enlarged, but only one test showed high levels and an ultrasound shows nodules. I had been working with docs to control my weight and keep hitting block walls. My entire family history back 5 generations is less than 105 pounds I am almost 180 and gaining regardless of diet and weight. I was researching weight loss solutions and post cholecystectomy points to thyroid issues such as hashimoto hypothyroidism which would explain everything I have been seeing doctors for. Can anyone guide me.

Have you had blood work to determine your TSH level. That should give you an indication of whether you have hypothyroidism. Also, measuring antibodies in blood show if it is caused by Hashimoto hypothyroidism. I have hypothyroidism and it didn’t show up right away but eventually did after morning fasting blood work.
