My son is in his early 20s and had his gallbladder removed laparoscopically yesterday and he is in severe pain and vomiting. He went back to the hospital and his white blood cell count and calcium levels are high. Doctors don't know what is wrong. He's lost about 50 lbs since the beginning of the year and was diagnosed with ulcers too. It's worrisome.

Hello @delyn and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I am sorry to hear of your son's health issues post-gallbladder removal.

It is too bad that the doctors in the hospital did not know what is causing this problem. I'm assuming that he went to the ER?

I hope he is feeling better now, but if he is still having problems today, I would certainly recommend that he contact the doctor who performed the surgery and let him or her know what is going on.

Has he done this yet?
