There is no so-called “cure.”
As I indicated earlier, my Doctor is willing to prescribe a 30 day supply of Oxycodone APAP 5/525 (120) to be taken for a maximum of 4 tablets per day. Since a common side effect is a hardening of one’s stool, each pill can be accompanied by one over-the-counter stool softener..
Since Oxy is a tightly controlled substance, the addictive side effect is an important cautionary tale requiring self discipline on use as per maximum 4 daily, one every 4 hours.,
The good news.......it is highly effective in treating the pain & discomfort and insomnia.
Importantly, it is not a cure for peripheral neuropathy and none exists.
Massage in daily hot baths is very helpful, as is application and self massage with Aveeno mosturizing lotion readily available at any drugstore or pharmacy.
Let me know in due time if this combination of pharma & practical remedies works for you as it does for me. If your doctor is reluctant to prescribe a possibly addictive medication like Oxy, emphasize your determination to strictly adhere to a 4 a day regimen with your pharmacist overseeing that regimen.
