I found through my own experience I’ve had low thyroid. Like you I just had my script fueled and took it. Then someone I know had problems and in the discussion gave me the name of her Endocrinologist who had me get an ultrasound. He looked at the ultrasound and casually said it looks like it’s dieing and said it was small. Apparently there was a nodule and it proved nothing. The ENT is the doc that said I had Hoshimotos when I asked what kind of problem. I happened to by a book accidentally found in the book store called, The Thyroid source book. It was very informative. I also have the Thyroid Diet book also.

My present ENT put a scope down my nose for other reasons and checked my thyroid out and said it looked good. Some ENT’s are surgeons for thyroid issues, but not all. I just wish he would have fixed my deviated septum. I have difficulty breathing through my nose.

I had a scope put down my nose by my ENT due to problems I have but he didn't say anything about my Thyroid at all. I also have a deviated septum and my nose drains a lot from the left side. I'm always clogged up. I, also, have a deviated septum, and he does want to do surgery if I want it, but I do not want to have surgery on my nose done, so declined. I was having problems with hoarseness off and on but I believe it is from allergies but glad he did check things out. Why I don't want the surgery, I don't know. Heard different things about it, but at my age, decided not to have it done.
