Has anyone tried Scrambler Therapy for neuropathy or for pain?
I have read about this device and I’m hoping someone can attest to its effectiveness for idiopathic neuropathy. I've read success stories and information online. Apparently insurance does not cover treatments, to the tune of $250 for the customary recommended 10 consecutive weekdays.

Hello Bendeb, I moved your question to this existing discussion with the same name so that you can meet other members, like @lorirenee1 @wisfloj @banksnc49 @lweave2, discussing scrambler therapy and neuropathy. I encourage to scroll through the past posts and ask any questions you may have.

Bendeb, you mention that you have acute neuropathy. Is this new for you? Or did you mean chronic?
My friend at work just had done about 4weeks ago, he said so far so good! I am thinking about trying it?
@jimmy370 can you share the information that intruigued you?
No, I haven’t heard of it. What is it?
@bethwiseman if you go back in the conversation on the Connect website, you will see a post earlier made by @johnbishop here that will help describe Scrambler Therapy: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/262810/
Do you have Neuropathy and/or pain?
Hello @docsokgmailcom, Welcome to Connect. Thank you for the private message. I thought I would reply to your private message in this discussion - Has anyone tried Scrambler Therapy for neuropathy or for pain? so that you can read what other members have shared about the Calmare Therapy often called the "Scrambler". You mentioned you are having difficulty reaching anyone at Mayo to make inquiries about scheduling and costs of the Scrambler treatment.
This information is from 2016 so may not be correct - "The cost can run anywhere between $200 and $500 per session, and up to 10 sessions may be recommended. This is less expensive than some other procedures and therapies employed for chronic pain, such as spinal cord stimulators. Also, I'm not sure Mayo Clinic offers Calmare Scrambler Therapy any more. I was not able to find any current information on availability but that doesn't mean they do not provide this treatment. Your best source would be to call one of the Mayo Clinic locations which I'm guessing you have already tried which is why you are having difficulty finding information. The contact information for Minnesota, Arizona and Florida can be found here http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.
Have you called one of the Mayo Clinic locations and asked about Scrambler therapy?
John, thank you for your time and help. I have emailed Dr. Loprinzi re the Scrambler treatment and he referred me to a doctor in private practice who has offices in RI and FL (who I would prefer not to see). Maybe this was an indication that Mayo no longer does this treatment. Have made many calls to Rochester but unable to get to the right person. Do you have some special connection there to help get the # of the person who can answer my questions? DS
@docsokgmailcom I really wished I had an answer for you but I have no special connections and it does look to me like Mayo Clinic no longer offers the Calmare Scrambler Treatment. The only numbers I have are the appointment offices that you have already called.
@steeldove started a discussion on Spinal Cord Stimulation here and may have some thoughts or suggestions as an alternative -- Spinal Cord Stimulation: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/spinal-cord-stimulation-2/
Have you tried other treatments or thought about other treatments or therapies to help with your pain? If you are able to share a little more about your diagnosis or symptoms, other members may have some experience they can share with you.
John, I did successfully reach a person in the Mayo pain clinic who said that they do Scrambler Theraoy there. But I have not been successful in finding info on the Rochester Mayo Pain Clinic on the internet. Do you have access to a link to their website?
That's great news! Here's the link to the Mayo Pain Rehabilitation Center - https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/pain-rehabilitation-center/sections/overview/ovc-20481691
