Hi John, I'm getting suspicious email messages as mayo clinic topics but they request that I click on their link to send a private message and get important news from blank@mtellste ....do you think it's spam or malware? If anyone is using Mayo Clinic's help groups to do any such thing then they are pretty rotten. Peggy

I got one too. Don’t click on it, I looked up the email address. Definitely a scam. I reported it to Colleen. I couldn’t believe someone would do such a thing on Connect!

@pfbacon @athenalee and others - Another member sent me a private message to alert me. I had already received 2 private messages from the scammer this morning and reported them to have them removed. As a rule of thumb, never respond to a request for your email address from a member you do not know, just delete the private message. If you ever want to dig into it you can do a Google search of the persons email address + scam or just by itself and it will usually let you know if the email is being used to send out scam or phishing emails. It is really important to protect and keep your personal information private.
