I live in Michigan. My neurologist told me today I do not have trigeminal neuralgia but post traumatic trigeminal neuropathy as a result of dental trauma. The neurologist said there is currently no treatment available for this, that further"procedures" would only make matters worse. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this? I do have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in 2 weeks and was going to ask if gamma knife is an option.

I have experienced this and continue to experience it as a result of a severe abscessed tooth from last September. I am being treated with Gabapentin.
