@duckduck2020 I can certainly understand your hesitancy in getting the ileostomy surgery. And I know you’re tired which makes taking on any new thing yet another challenge. But it sounds as though it’s a vital step in your role to long term recovery from your cancer.

Fighting cancer can be a long, hard battle. Very few of us come out victorious without scars and reminders of our war efforts and some of the indignities we incurred along the way. They become part of our new normal...we accept, adapt and move on. So I hope that you’ll be able to to accept this new ‘accessory’ and remember that it’s part of your battle armor/ammunition!

I re-read some of your past postings and see that you were given some great information regarding the procedure and what it’s like to live with the ileostomy bag.
Do you have any other questions? On Connect we also have an Ostomy group. These members have ‘walked the walk’ and would be able to give you personal insights and offer some positive encouragement. Stay strong, stay positive...you’ve got this!! Lori.

I am thinking of you as you begin your new opportunity for healing. Be gentle with yourself and accept care and help in your recovery. There is much reason for hope and I look forward to your posts going forward. Peace, Nancy
