Ear Tinnitus and Pain with Neuropathy
Does anyone have severe tinnitus and ear pain with their neuropathy? I have small fiber and autonomic neuropathy and I have been getting severe tinnitus (roaring and high pitch noise) and a feeling of pressure and pain for the last month. I am wondering if the neuropathy and/or medications are causing it. I am on gabopentin, cymbalta, and NSAIDS.

Here is the only recent information I could from a non-commercial source. https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1019.html
And you can click the tabs here to see what medicines or conditions might have a negative effect or interaction from using Maritime Pine (Pycnogenol). https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1019/maritime-pine
So, if it appears from the above information that it would be safe for you to try Maritime Pine, you may want to consider it. If so, let us know if it helps.

I had tinnitus long Before neuropathy!
I did too jimmy370. Many years before and although odd didnt hurt, no ear pain or issues, just the odd clicks (in rhythmic sequence), and few belss and whistles. Then 2016 neuropathy after taking an antibiotic (quinoline) for UTI. 2 weeks after finishing pills which can occur months later. Compared with other issues in my life I managed with no meds esp. since allergic to lots. But its been the last year or so, esp. after taking Vancomycin and Fosfomycin and throat infection etc., that month by month and year by year and eustatian tube issues I now have tinnitus 24/7 machinery noise, pain in ears/jaw area/some hearing loss, fullness and pressure in ears, and the neuropathy is more painful and added bonus this year internal tremors. It still is difficult to uncover exactly what caused which and I have no family doctor now, but he didnt pursue anyway....not interested. So am on my own to try and cope day by day taking Tylenol and such... (like many on here have other medical issues like Glaucoma, ibs-d, fecal incontinence and emotional problems).. so it can get quite depressing and people wonder why I feel sad!! Kudos to those who are getting through with one or ten issues and keep smiling, as I can't. Best of luck to you.... J.
Was curious if you’ve heard of others getting it from the covid vaccine? (SFPN)
Like you I had tinnitus long before neuropathy, but I am wondering if the neuropathy occurred b/c of the tinnitus. Is there any research that shows that?
@zekeflash I had developed tinnitus 16 years ago but it had nothing to do with neuropathy. I now have neuropathy as a result of a surgery. I don’t know if tinnitus can develop from neuropathy. You should ask your ENT doctor if there is a relationship.
I have the same combination - just emerged. What was your official diagnosis?
No diagnosis to date. Local doctors in Charleston,SC have no idea. Going back to Mayo, Rochester next month to pursue with neurologist there - Doctor Dirk.
Yes, I developed peripheral neuropathy, tinnitus, and bulging veins all shortly after my first and only dose of the Moderna vaccine 13 weeks ago.
I had two Moderna vaccine shots. Cause of more problems? Not sure.
