Mammograms and COVID19 Vaccination
Ladies out there, please chime in, isn't this funny? It's time for this covid19 pandemic to end! Did you catch the newsfeed item regarding mammograms and covid19 vaccines? I scheduled my Mammogram , and my 2nd dose vaccine is tomorrow, so I read this with great interest. There is a connection!

Our clinic asks about vaccination when you schedule. They tell you the scan should be at least 4 weeks, preferably 6, after a Covid vaccine. My friend didn't know, had her mammogram between shots, now has to go back for another scan.

Hi,
I read that some women may have swollen lymph nodes after the vaccine. They want to make sure the swelling is not cancer if it shows up on the mammogram so suggest the 4 to 6 week wait after the last shot. Waiting may rule out the possibility of having to go back for another mammo. I don’t see any harm in waiting that long for a typical patient who may go only once a year or every two years for mammos.
This only goes to show there is so much that we don’t know about the virus or the shots and I personally would err on the side of caution.
FL Mary wishing she had never ever heard the word Covid.
Yes, Mary, that is what the link Erin posted explains. My daughter had the swollen lymph nodes after her first shot - so much so that they were visible under her arm! She had a huge immune response because she had Covid last year. She also had extremely swollen lymph nodes with the virus.

thank you @sueinmn for all of the information, I have never heard of this! I'll give the office a callback, I scheduled a mammogram in the near future. Sounds like I'd go there to the mammogram site and potentially have to reschedule anyway.
