Osteoporosis treatment or strontium citrate?
Is reclast a safe treatment for osteoporosis I have not done anything so far except strontium citrate?
***Director's Note:***
There’s not enough research to know if strontium fights osteoporosis. Also, the FDA doesn’t regulate supplements in the same way as prescription drugs, so it's not possible to know if if they are safe or work well or even how much of the main ingredient they contain.
If you want to take a strontium supplement, it is recommended to ask your doctor first.

@parrotqueen Good to hear from you I just used my Boron and eat prunes like RBG I hope whoever whether Amy C Barret or whoever will be as forceful as RBG
@imitine Your welcome. I do mostly naturel remedies. As for Osteoporosis Dr told me to take Calcium Caltrate twice a day and I have other Vit . I take but see what your Dr wants. I did have 1 Reclast infusion its a yearly one . I did have some problems with my teeth so will decide next year if I will take it or not unlike Prolia you have to stay on it . Good luck My Dr. is a O.D. osteopath Dr. will use naturel products
Hello parrotqueen, wow, I can relate to so much of what you said and your journey. How are you doing? I am so far behind on posts! Please forgive.
Could you please describe to me what bones you have fractured, how each broke, how badly each hurt individually and for how long and how long did it take for them to heal. I know I'm asking a lot and I completely understand if you aren't comfortable giving out this information. No worries. 😊
I am 67.9 years old and have "severe" (bc I 've fractured 3 pelvic, 1 rib spontaneously) osteoporosis. I take Prednisone and a demodifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) daily. Both are immunosuppressants.
My recent DEXA scan showed my spine is 13% worse and hip 14%. The report says that changes more than 2‰ are considered significant. I think they were - 3.5 and 3.7? I don't feel well enough to get up and look right now.
I lost a ton of weight by eating a very low calorie diet for about 3 years and only recently learned that is the worst thing I could have done for osteoporosis! I had zero dairy that whole time!! 😲
My Endocrinologists have wanted me to take a bisphosphonate but I can't bring myself to do it after learning how many potential horrible side- effects there can be. Some are serious! The mere description of "severe debilitating" muscle /joint /bone pain & flu-like symptoms would just be doubling up on ny current pain not counting my pretty much head to toe neuropathy pain (sting, burn & feels like I'm missing top layer of skin)!
I learned about a great supplement from a blog member here and without a doubt I'm changing my bone supplement for this one for several reasons.
It's made by AOR company in Canada. It has everything you mentioned, including boron, but not strontium bc it should be taken 2 hours after or before calcium and on an empty stomach! So I biught their Strontium too.
It sounds like you've been through so much my heart feels so heavy for you. Please know that I will be praying for you to be relieved and to experience the comfort of God and His peace through Christ which surpasses human understanding.
In Christ's unfathomable love, Sunnyflower. 😊🌹🙏💗 @imatine @lioness
Hello Imatine. I am Sunnyflower. Endocrinologists usually manage osteoporosis. Since you've been under the care of an Oncologist, the two specialists can coordinate your care. I wish you all the best in every way.
Many blessings and warmest wishes, Sunnyflower 🤗🌹

1 Reactionparrotqueen, I'm glad you have discovered boron and utilize a supplement with boron containing foods. I believe you will see the same benefit from foods, if not more, containing Activator-X. Sufficient magnesium to activate vitamin D and thiamine (B1) plays a major role in these nutrients becoming bioactive as well as a staggering number of other critical functions. Sadly, adequate levels are not in many diets and often supplements used have low absorption levels. Krispin shares her valuable magnesium information in the link below. And also don't leave out vitamin C ! Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.

1 ReactionInteresting side note to the posting on Activator X
The activator-x discussed here seems to be Vit K2. Found in certain animal and fermented foods, K2 has been tied to many benefits including bone health and cancer prevention. There is another link found in research to the popular Budwig diet which is found on the internet as a cancer prevention diet; this diet contains fermented products, as well as, eliminating sugars and the famous Budwig chemical concoction of flaxseed oil and cottage cheese which uses the chemical reaction between flaxseed oil and cottage cheese to flood the body with oxygen in the hope of preventing cancers.
I just found the link between Activator-X and the Budwig Diet interesting (fermentedfoods) ..not suggesting either, although I do use the Budwig diet flaxseed oil and cottage cheese concoction. I am less likely to use the fermented foods or completely eliminate sugars...probably to my detriment, sadly.

1 ReactionMy pleasure! I hope and pray it all works out for you seamlessly. Remember, you have to advocate for yourself. Don't be intimated at all, ever. Easier said than done but you have a lot of patient rights. You can ask for diagnostics and referrals. Warmest wishes, and have a blessed Thanksgiving, Sunny 🙏🤗🌹

1 ReactionI don't have a natural homeopathic doctor in this state. I'd like to know specifics about how much any doctor (natural) advises. I've seen friends lose their lives taking meds that cause more trouble, then taking meds for that, then they die and I wonder if it weren't the prescriptions that caused it. I was told I needed meds for high BP. I broke out in a rash. I researched and found hawthorn (but it restricts the heart) and Hibiscus (relaxes blood vessels) so I took Hibiscus and after a month my BP is perfect! I want the same results for my brittle bones 🙂 Can anyone please say what dosages and what vitimins etc they are taking? This is NOT prescribing. Just sharing. It's up to us to evaluate and research for ourselves but first you need to know what is working for others. A starting point. Please. Thanks so much! 🙂
I thought vitimin K clots the blood. A friend of mine was on blood thinning meds and hit his head...wouldn't stop bleeding. ER gave him a shot of Vitimin K. Since I need some sort of thinner (using Horse Chestnut for vein health but do take a baby aspirin sometimes) I'm not sure about using vitimin K. Any thoughts please? Thank you all so much!
