What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@johnbishop and @colleenyoung, Both of you know what an admitted techno clutz I am and I hope you both know how much I've appreciated the many "extra miles" you given to keeping me "on board". Connect is very impt. to me and I deeply appreciate you both.
I'd copied Colleen's tips for the updates to a word doc. I must truly be "dumber than a comatose skunk" because I am missing some step in trying to "reinstate" posts from the grps I follow.

Control when and how often Mayo Clinic Connect sends email notifications to you. You can change your notification preferences any time. Go to Profile & Settings. Click your avatar in the top right and select Profile & Settings. Select the Settings tab. Scroll down to Email Notifications. Can't see: email notifications
At the picture at top: click on Profile and Settings… When I click on Profile, it just shows: General Settings, About Me…can’t scroll down to see Email Notifications.
John, When I click on the 1st link you shared, My Groups & Blogs, and click on any groups, if I click + on ff, it says clicking will mean to unfollow. I know I am easily confused but I can't figure out how to scroll from Settings to get to or see a place to edit or reinstate: "email notifications" ?
Now this really proves my inadequacy because when I clicked on Colleen's example of the "Home Page", I can't figure out how to get to Home Page from the Daily Digest?
Just shows how desperate I am to stay connected that I would so openly admit to my inadequacy but there it is! I know I'm missing something very obviously simple. Thank you both and wishing all the best health and most smiles possible during 2021!
@fiesty76 It sounds like you using a phone or mobile device? Do you see a "More" tab to the right of Activity when you click the Profile & settings link? The More tab will show you another Settings link where you can access your General settings and scroll down to see the Notifications and Preferences.
my neighbor is building a new garden shed! So, outside my window right now is a truck with building supplies, and 2 workers, fun to watch.
Outside my window today~a muskrat munching away on some newly growing cattails!
Lovely capture @loribmt
I like this guy better than your wild turkeys - they can wreak so much havoc in fields and yards.

Here’s a close up just for you! LOL.
This is from 2008 but I came really close to cranking my window open thinking this was my cat until he turned his head around and I could actually see it was definitely not my kitty.
Hello, Lauri. Haven't seen you folks a couple of days or your wonderful pictures. This little fellow is adorable! Tell me about him....looks a lot like beaver...funny character. Do you have many in your area? I understand they can wreck plant life, and I read they are eaten by humans.
See what I learned just from your pic? I didn't realize they are still so active in the wetlands. I love this nature you share!
Blessings Lauri. Hope you're feeling stronger. I truly am sorry you've been through so much yucky stuff. Gentle, easy, quiet addition of liquids and foods. I find yogurt is my best food these days. I have a cup at least every day for digestive pleasure. I eat Greek yogurt parfaits, often, with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries. Always have blueberries.
I also began taking a probiotic last year. It seems I found the right one for me, as my gastro doctor says each of our guts are different with very different, specialized bacteria so probiotics are a chance whether you find the right one for your belly. I tried Activa and was very sick. This probiotic pill has made a huge improvement in life. IBS-D is controlled better. Tend to be constipated if not careful, but that also goes along with other issues, so I'm thrilled with the changes from the probiotic and yogurt.
I always have a tough time w/colonoscopies, the prep causes me issues for days. Upsets my hormonal balance, electrolytes go wonky, everything is a mess until I get it all readjusted. Thankfully, now they only require those of us who need frequent follow-ups every 3 years unless there's a specific reason for sooner. For years it was every year!
I took a couple of pictures w/phone of patio flowers and will send along in couple of days. Right now, I need to spend time planting some new plants I hope will be happy and keep everything looking good for a while. I'm hiring a fellow to build a small wall to create the bed I've wanted for years. And, lay some stones.
Unusual birds have gone back to you, I think! I'll have my red-headed woodypeckers all year and cardinal families, nutcrackers, mourning doves, little redish brown w/black heads and white stripes on each side of head/neck...trying to find who they are...hummers aren't back, darn it! Planting some pretties to attract them, hopefully.
Off to refill feeders, clean hummingbird feeder and clean off the patio a bit. Plumbers coming next week to do the reno of my 3 bathrooms! Have wood fellow coming next week to put in a couple of pocket doors, hang bead board in 2 baths and replace baseboards. This is all good! Finally.
I've been all over the place today, sorry John and Becky. A lot is related to my picture windowm tho?
Blessings, my friends. Be well, think good thoughts, enjoy the view....elizabeth
