What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@ess77 In times past I chopped and sawed, packed and stacked with the best of them, wood and rocks. I have been laid low since Jan this year with a bad back. Back issue not from an accident. We have gone through about 2.5 cords this year. Mostly hard wood, some lighter wood [burns faster/hotter].

I guess wood is more reasonable than electricity. I don't suppose you have natural gas out in no man's land. Hope your back gets better. Something from one of the 5 food groups will help your back or at least make it so you don't mind it as much, right Lizzy @ess77.
Take care ,

Nature is healing and inexpensive medicine. Here’s a little dose for today.
Sunrise through the forest at -28 degrees earlier this year.
2 sunset photos as the ice was melting in early spring with the sky reflected in the small areas of open water. No filters were used...just Mother Nature painting the sky!
@jakedduck1 We use the wood in our fireplace, in addition to the all-electric in the house. As you may have seen, or read about, we close off rooms used rarely, to keep the heat in the more used areas of house [picture Little House on the Prairie]. The difference in temps from front of house to the bedroom is amazing. And promotes a comfy sleep in the recliner at night! There is gas available to us if we pull the line in, which is in our future plans.
@loribmt Wonderful pictures this morning! Thank you! Luckily we get the sunrise in through our kitchen, sunsets through large picture window on west side. Too chilly to sit on the deck for morning coffee.

Could be your back issues are from the years of chopping and sawing and stacking and picking up rocks with the best of them! you are one tough gal~ Bless you and protect that back! elizabeth
So lovely~ blessings and thank you for sharing the beauty elizabeth
Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day indeed! Using my mobile window today 🙂
Lori, do you or have you submitted any of your photos to any of the natural mags or whatever? I have a friend here in Jax who has travelled all over the world and takes marvelous photos, like you.....she won the National Audobon award a few years ago for her photo of ?????can't recall, dad-blast-it! Amazing the trips and walks and stake outs and such to get something as lovely as yours. You must be out walking throughout the lake woods/property and wherever you go. I'm in love w/your photography and jealouse as well... for many years I wanted to use some of my limited creativity but too often locked up inside....w/photos. I have an older camera, film, but must either learn to use it or get an inexpensive digital camera, or use my phone.....think I'll begin w/the phone, and go online to ck out the older camera. It's a good one with several lens attachments, belonged to my deceased fiance.
You're getting my creative juices going.....Thanks and blessings to you, Lori. Please keep the lovelies coming...elizabeth
Thank you, Elizabeth. Oh golly, years ago I did enter a few photographs. For some reason it just didn’t appeal to me. The same with entering my quilts in shows. I’m not one for accepting accolades I guess. In truth, I prefer to ‘fly under the radar’ most of the time. But thank you for the encouragement.
I’m happy to share my photos on here with you and our fellow community members though. Obviously I didn’t need much prodding for that! LOL. Maybe because it’s not a competition?
Yes! Start taking photos. Of anything! It gets you in the practice of seeing ‘through a different lens’. Pun intended. Inspiration is everywhere. Artists see things differently. It comes with practice. Being inside doesn’t have to limit your photo creativity!
What’s your older camera? I have an old Canon AE-1. it’s a grand camera with all the extra lenses! I still love to shoot with film. But it’s getting so difficult to find any place to develop now. We used to have a large darkroom. My husband, daughter and I all were involved. We moved and never set it up again. I fought digital for years but finally caved and love it.
Whatever I can do to help inspire you to create, I’m you’re girl! On my work table this afternoon are 2 new journals I’m finishing. (I make the books, i don’t write in them!) Tomorrow I start baby blankets and bibs for one of my chemo nurses who became like family. She’s having a little girl in a month.
Enjoy your evening! Lori.
