That’s so true. The nerve thought makes sense ... I may be irritating nerves with my improvisational mucus removal techniques. I sleep in the same position every night, all night, pretty much as long as i can remember, which is on my left side. This is seemingly good though as I think it drains the mucus from my problematic right lobe (which may be why this doesn’t bother me at night). Maybe I need to find some less violent ways to get this stuff up and out.

@otter2154- I didn't suggest that it is related to your thumping and bumping. It's a good thing to try and lessen it and go from there!

Hi Otter. I too suffered daily with coughing and choking trying to rid my lungs of the mucus. Tussein Mucus and Cough has helped tremendously in thinning the mucus to a point where coughing is minimal. Tussein is similar to Mucinex but its emphasis is on mucus and not cough. It’s available on Amazon, or perhaps your local pharmacy carries the brand. Mine did not. Tussein was recommended by the hospital while recovering from pneumonia.
