I had my Biopsy (Cyst On Pancreas ) 4/7/21 and haven't heard back from my Surgeon yet ? I did notice on-line on my Claims & Payments Insurance that they paid for Lab Procedure Code R970 . It says Higher than normal level Carcinoembryonic Antigen ( CEA ) ?? Don't know what that means ?? Anyone have had this ?? Thanks

Hello @faithann64,

I found this information on Mayo Clinic's Lab website. It will give you some information about this test, https://www.mayocliniclabs.com/test-catalog/Clinical+and+Interpretive/8521

Have you checked the patient portal to see if the biopsy results have posted yet? When they do post you can find out what the CEA level is and perhaps that could give you some more information.

Since you said that the biopsy was a week ago, have you considered calling the office and asking if the results are ready for you to review on the patient portal? Or you could consider asking them about this test and ask specifically what your CEA number was. It is good to be proactive in relation to your health. As we advocate for ourselves it helps us feel more in control.

I look forward to hearing from you again.
