I have similar problems as you described. I have no health insurance, applied for Medicaid assistance (was denied), and don't know whether to act or just continue living with it. After I told her my symptoms, my grandma said, "Have your thyroid checked!" I would like to...if only I could afford it.

Hello,
I have the opposite and have the thyroid issue that is slow. I was given medication but it does not help because the medications for depression cause even more weight gain. Have you checked your local clinics to inquire about a sliding scale fee? Where I reside the are walk in clinics that will see you without medical insurance on a sliding scale.
