Has she had both hips replaced? Sure sounds like the hip joint.

One hip replaced. She does need the other one done as well but the pain is (mostly) on the side of the one that was already replaced. They did a bone scan to make sure the replaced hip is in there tightly too.

I hate bone scans alone with no x-ray.I have one hip that has really hurt since replacement and everything looks ok,but something is causing the pain.I have lower back and hip,groin pain also.That is the way my hip problems came about.I woke up one morning and couldnt put any weight on them.If shes up to it and needs it the other hip being replaced could help she could compensate for the pain a little better if she had a good replacement to transfer weight.Thats not much help but this is so difficult to go through because you never have a sure solution.

Your welcome.One last bit of amatuer MD advice.Dont know if your familier with them,but an orthopedic revisionist has alot more knowledge than an ortho surgeon,they have really helped me.You might check one out.
