Hi, @catherinelewis - wondering how things are going with the pain when you are with your husband? Has it improved at all?

@kathleentischer - is the nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) working to prevent the bladder infections you were experiencing? How is the pain you talked about?

Several years ago my Urologist suggested a bit of Premarin cream to be used on the urethra and years prior, with UTI's and no tub bathing or hot tubs, and I have showered ONLY since. The one time I was in a hot tub I developed a UTI, we were on vacation, I was miserable.
Now with much more age it is necessary for the entrance of my vagina, skin quite thin and can tear in one area....GYN says Premarin cream is to be used internally and as Urologist suggested as well.
