No. Possibly the effects of the gabapentin had worn off?

You are taking a seizure med. It doesn't work for pain. Been there twice. They give it to you because they don't want tongive uou the onlybthing thst does work, narcotics. Welcome to the new medical reality. Pain isn't a real ptoblem. You are the problem. Leave it alone. Find a real pain clinic.

My husband was on Gabapentin and Lyrica for chronic and significant pain from cancer. Neither one worked, and as I understand how this works for pain, you must titrate up the dose and over time is when you can expect benefit. It is not for acute pain. His was both, and these products did nothing beneficial for him, and probably made him feel worse. I was very disappointed in these drug choices for this type of pain. That said, some folks DO get benefit. There is nothing that works well or the same for every patient. But trial and error can be harmful when trying to find relief from pain.

I also had a terrible reaction to it. I told my (ex) doctor. She did not even reply.

I take 300 mg of Gabepentin twice daily. It helps me with nerve pain.

Yes in 2007 I was prescribed Gapapentin for fibromyalgia and I was bedridden due to excruciating pain of my knee.

I too have nerve pain. It comes and goes. Sometimes it's unbearable, sometimes it is absent. I took lyrica, up to 1200 mgs. per day for 3 years. When I stopped, I noticed no difference. I still have the pain, no more no less than when on lyrica. I had a similar experience with Neurontin, a very similar forerunner to lyrica. The really hard thing about pain and knowing what does and doesn't work is the way it can come and go. It's absence often leads us to believe something we did worked. Often that is th3e case but you can never be sure without carefully analyzing the frequency of pain and what contributing factors affect you. Anxiety, depression, stress, exercise, diet and other health issues are only a few factors that go into the equation. Never forget what the medical community refers to and often dismisses is the "placebo effect". I have practiced Qigong for many years and I know the body has some ability to heal itself given the right mindset. I also believe that the "placebo effect " is really a reflection of that ability. Don't sell it short. Your belief that what you are doing will help you is of the utmost importance no matter what you do or take.

I made an error it’s 2400 and I guess about a year I don’t see any improvements but doc says to keep taking it I’m Still in excruciating pain while taking it so what’s the point side effects I believe are I feel like my joints are getting weaker

@rwinney My nerve pain bothers me more at night I can tolerate it during the day I take 1200 @night then i can sleep for 7hrs ,during day when I'm up I use Epsom salts and peanut oil not the kind over the counter but through Base.com it has more nutrition in it Same for my back and knees I swear this combination has really helped me Have a blessed day Linda

I’ve personally found Gabapentin to worked really well for me. I’ve been on it for years for complex regional pain syndrome. I’m on a large combination of medications (for not just CRPS, but my heart and other issues) but the Gabapentin is one that I can definitely tell makes a big difference if I happen to miss a dose. I’m on a large amount 1200mg 3x day. So I definitely disagree to those that say it doesn’t do anything for pain. Because while it may not have worked for one patient, another patient may have a really good response to it. Each of us is different- we have different conditions and our bodies react to each medication in unique ways.
