This is the article that I saw. But I know nothing more about it!
Here's another article that reviews the device and patient's that have used it.
Scrambler therapy: what's new after 15 years? The results from 219 patients treated for chronic pain (Jan 11, 2019)

I have personally tried Scrambler Therapy for my idiopathic neuropathy. I was in pain for 10 years. I spent thousands and have tried many different therapies, but nothing worked longer than a day. The only exception was the Scrambler Therapy.
By the second session, the pins and needles were completely gone. I had a total of 11 sessions and the pain has not returned! My quality of life has returned. I'm more active and happier not being in pain any longer.
I highly recommend this. You will not waste your money nor regret it. Currently, there isn't a cure for Neuropathy. Remember this is not a cure, but it will actually stop your pain!
I had a prelinary evaluation and 1/2 hr treatment in Chandler AZ. I think I saw improvement, but could not follow through because I was headed out of AZ for Summer. Could not find a provider in MT. Unrelated back pain forced me to a chiropractor here in MT for Back pain and his speciality of treating Neuropathy with a: Rebuilder (beefed up tens unit), Red light Therapy, and a host of supplements and office visits. After 4 days uncertain as to results. I posted a longer message on another message board on this Mayo Site.
I’ve lived with chronic upper legs pain for 40+ years. I recently had a peripheral nerve device (NALU) implanted in my lower abdomen.
It’s an internal “tens unit” which sends the same stimuli to the brain as the Scrambler does. My device works. I’ve cut my meds in half after 2 years and I only use the device if the pain starts up. It’s miracle I never thought possible.
I’m very interested in the Scrambler and will ask my pain specialist what he thinks. Medicare covered my implant btw.

@janetdh, @mikween, and @swiss have mentioned the Scrambler (MC-5A Calmare Therapy) and may have more information.
