I saw my doctor earlier this week about statin cramps and she believes that the cramps are related to my Lexapro. This sounded nutty to me at first, but the cramps seemed to coincide with other Lexapro side effects. So, I am withdrawing my above complaint about cramps and wonder if you may be experiencing something similar?

@sal70 i have taken both pravastatin 80 mg and now im on Atorvastatin 20 mg. I can't say o have muscle ache except for a few minutes in the morning when i get up. But its gone in just a few minutes after walking. And i think my number are the best now on atorvastatin but i do watch my biet better now too

@sal70- I've taken both Simvastatin & Atorvastin at 40 mg and both seemed to create a numbness in my feet to the point that after walking only a half mile I felt I was going to trip because of a lack of feeling. I went to the Scottsdale Mayo last year for second opinions after a HA back in 2014 and had tests all day with a wonderful cardiologist. In the end got very good news on several things but also his suggestion was to go on Rosuvastatin, but start with 20 mg. He said mainly he felt it would help with the numbness but also he felt it does the best job of lowering the LDL (it was 78 at the time & he wanted it below 60).
Not only did it drop my LDL to 58 within 6 months on just 20 mg, but also my numbness is 95% gone!
