Colleen,
I don't know if I'll join the teleconference. I've not been feeling well and have been pretty much inactive in the group for a week or two. I found out last week that my doctor won't prescribe my morphine sulfate contin at any higher dosage than I have now. I only have been taking a low dose, and it's clearly not enough. I'm not sure where I'm going to turn. Right now, I don't know what my involvement with Connect is going to be. Sorry I can't be more specific. Life is just too up in the air.

Hello Jim, I am sorry to hear that you aren't doing well right now. We certainly understand your being inactive for a bit. I have two friends that are in the same boat as you. It's no fun, for sure. I hope you can get your medication issue resolved. Big Hug. -Terri

oK gang, I am trying John's suggestion to use notebook on my new lap-top as to not have to continually repeat myself when answering posts. John, I do not see any such notebook icon for that in which to test this text. Any hints? Thank you!!!

You bet - Windows 10 I presume. Should just have to click the Start icon in the lower left and type notepad in the search box. It will show the notepad app at the top of the list. Right click on notepad and Send To Taskbar to put it on the bottom taskbar. Let me know if that doesn't work!

This works if you can search for the notepad.exe program. Otherwise you can click on Windows Start icon, then click All apps, scroll down to the W's, open the Windows Accessories folder, right click on notepad.exe, Pin to Taskbar.

John

Here's a YouTube video that shows you how to find it and add it to the Taskbar.

@johnbishop Hi John and Terri

I found Notebook as well! It looks like it has a save option so that posts can be categorized. Is that right John?

REPLY

@johnbishop, I am a little confused now. Probably just semantics, but do you use an app called "notebook" or "notepad"?

@rosemarya I think learning more about each mentor in the group. I haven't had a whole lot of time to get know everyone , or go through the profiles of each mentor.

I was at Disney for my Birthday a few days after Colleen asked me to mentor. Then this past Friday I had a out patient surgery at Mayo in Jax. So my first month as a mentor I had alot of things going on.

I am eager to learn more about all of us, and each part we all contribute as mentors.
I think you have seen some my posts and I hope they insprire people?

Plus I'm like a walking illness, every time I turn around I have a new illness, I think I offically caught Old People Disease. My diseases are getting diseases. LOL.. Not really but it sure seems like it lately..

Seriously now.. As a mentor do we, or can we start a new topic in the groups about our own illnesses? I have a few recent ones and worries of my own. I could share with the group. I wonder myself if others go through them as well?

I think you saw me post about my left eye being referred for further observation for Glaucoma.

Now being the queen of research on Dr Google, I saw that some cancers can metastasis to your eye. So of course, I am over here giving myself panic attacks. Did my Follicular Lymphoma that is dormant do that? Or did my stage 1 Cecum cancer return in my eye? Could that be what they saw on the Optomat retinal eye scan they did? Yep making myself crazy till I see a ophthalmologist.

So can we add topics as mentors for others to see? Cause l'm turning into a poster child of walking Illnesses myself. LOL..

@travelgirl Jackie, we do, as mentors, share what we are going through also. Even mentors need advice and support at times. That is part of being a mentor; we walk the same walk as the others in our group. I look forward to our teleconference also.
