I had a stroke May 2015. I was 53 at work doing light weight work. It was felt in eyes and i couldnt move.No tpa used and little o.t, p.t., Outcome from it good but mental i have worries of another one. Recently had very sharp pain right lower back of head go zig zag to top center of head left me with neck/head pain and stiffness turning and looking up. P.t.exercises ,massage, and heat help the most. Could it been another stroke? However both side of neck and head still have problems. What is considered young stroke? What is white matter changes on a mri mean? Thank you, Leslie
What is the best kind of doctor to diagnose carotid artery disease? Going to paid diagnostic clinic, they told me that I had mild to moderate plague in my carotid artery. Also my husband was told he had some Hardening of the arteries when they were looking for a blocked duct in his neck. Thank you Donna
Should I be concerned that I could have a stroke based on I've had a mesenteric dissection twice?
My fingers and hand get numb when I hold something like a book. It starts almost immediately. Especially if I am laying down. It started about Year ago, has gotten worse. I don't have tingling, just numbness.
Could you mention common symptoms patients may experience with a carotid dissection and fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD)?
My mesenteric dissection was spontaneous the first time in February 2011 and was treated finally with a stent in May 2011. The second dissection was within 32 hours of the first stent placement. Again, they treated the second tear with another stent. This was a first for my interventional vascular doctor who saved my life.both times. Looking back on photos in the month prior to the first dissection I looked very pasty in color and just not healthy, but never had any symptoms. When the spontaneously dissection happened, I immediately fell down grabbing my upper stomach area feeling a bulge and thought I was going to pass out. The pain was excruciating! The dissection was found through a CAT
Part 2: The pain was excruciating! The dissection was found through a CAT SCAN with contrast.
Surgery, stenting or watchful waiting?
Which is the best option for moderate blockage of the artery?
One side of the artery is completely closed.
