I'm about to have genetic testing done for myoclonic dystonia and family members health history that could help with diagnosis have all died. Where/how could I legally obtain information on these family members which could help with my diagnosis?

Welcome to Connect, @cbuss; what a great question!
Although I'm not quite sure about where you would be able to obtain this information, I will post it on tomorrow's Facebook Live event where Mayo Clinic certified genetic counselor Jessica Jackson will give a presentation with a virtual discussion to follow, regarding the importance of family history.

I would also encourage you to sign up for this event, which will take place on tomorrow, Nov.18 at 11am ET.
You can sign up here: http://mayocl.in/2eLMqAG
You do not need a Facebook account to be able to watch the broadcast. You will also be able to watch it right here on this page on Connect.

In the meantime, I would like you to meet @Kaia, @netfun2011, @kevinkelley, @shenaaz, and @lo who have talked about various forms of dystonia in the past.

@cbuss, have you been diagnosed with myoclonic dystonia?

Hello @cbuss,

As you will hear, Mayo Clinic certified genetic counselor Jessica Jackson addressed your question on this Facebook Live broadcast. You can listen in detail, here: http://mayocl.in/2g2KzDs

Please let us know if you have any other questions; we're listening.
