I am 51 and have HOCM, i have a Pacer and Defib in place. My next step will be Myectomy. My question is, will the muscle grow back after its cut away?
Alsö my last echo a fee weeks showed, Asymmetrica Left Ventricle Hypertrophy, posterior wall at 2.9. Mid cavity gradient is present, miminimal mid cavity. Dynamic gradient of 4 mm HG at rest. LV ejection fraction is 70%. EE ratio is 12, elevated filling pressure.

I have hocm and 2.1 cm septum and am having myectomy. My 28yr son has hcm and 2.5 cm septum. SHould he have a apical myectomy ?
What pre exam requirements may be done by my cardiologist in Canada and forwarded in the interest of saving money on items that would not be covered by my insurance in Canada.
